INSIGHT 10
AI is a priority. So why do the old habits still win?
Awareness and training start the movement. Practice, coaching and change management decide whether new ways of working last.

An executive committee declares AI a strategic priority. Training sessions follow. A few months later, everyday practices have barely changed.
The problem is rarely a lack of interest. More often, the organisation keeps rewarding the old way of working.
When the system pays for yesterday
Take a salesperson measured on calls, meetings and monthly targets. Their week is already full. No time is protected to experiment. Trying a new AI-supported approach means, in the short term, doing fewer of the things they are evaluated on.
The rational choice is therefore to keep doing what already works. Not out of resistance: out of coherence with the system.
What, in our organisation, still makes the old way of working more advantageous than the new one?
From awareness to impact
Three levers that work together
- Training and practice: awareness creates the desire; regular practice teaches new ways of working.
- Coaching: supporting leaders and teams on the situations they actually face.
- Change management: adapting processes, time and recognition so that new behaviours are encouraged and rewarded.
Without the third lever, the first two rarely last.
